Our contact with Tomasz started with genealogical research. Despite family information that part of our family came from Poznan, Tomasz was able to find that we instead came from villages near Torun. He met us there and we embarked on a day and a half journey to see the villages where our family lived and churches where they celebrated important life events. His research traced the family back almost 200 years. He contacted churches ahead of time and even knocked on doors of townspeople to find out more information for us. Solely because of his persistence and engaging personality, we received two personal tours of ancestral churches from the parish priests. On one occasion, after a 45 minute tour of the church, we were invited to the rectory for tea, cake and conversation. This was a highlight of our two weeks in Poland and would have never happened without Tomasz.Tomasz is knowledgeable, flexible, interesting, personable, and enthusiastic. He was not concerned about time but more interested in making sure that we saw all that we could see. Tomasz has a great sense of humor and speaks English very well. He was an excellent meal companion (encouraging us to try new foods too) and conversationalist. He has in-depth knowledge of the area and great genealogical instincts. His plan for touring was well organized so we could maximize the time we had. We recommend Tomasz without hesitation for both ancestral research and touring the Poznan/Torun area.

I highly recommend Polish Origins for both their genealogical research and their genealogical tours. My father and I recently took a seven-day tour with Polish Origins to visit his ancestors’ villages. I was impressed with Polish Origins from the early email correspondence with Kasia Tonia (our tour manager), who was able to find two branches of the family even though I had given her incorrect information! Zbigniew Stettner was our genealogist and guide – I am still in awe of his archival search process, his analytical skills (e.g., the connections he makes between individuals and between records), and his networking on the ground. We visited the villages and parishes of our ancestors. We met fourth cousins and second cousins that we did not know we had! Zbigniew was even able to find two sisters who knew of Barbara, the daughter my great-grandfather left behind in Poland. Barbara helped raise their mother and her siblings; the sisters were able to tell us heart-warming stories they heard about Barbara from their mother, aunt, and uncle.Polish Origins, Kasia Tonia, and Zbigniew Stettner provided my father and me a trip of a lifetime that we will never forget. Pan Marcin to świetny genealog! Wpadłem na pomysł odnalezienia rodzinnych przodków i stworzenia drzewa genealogicznego w formie prezentu dla rodziców. Początkowo bardzo sceptycznie podchodziłem do tego pomysłu. Raczej spodziewałem się że będą to pieniądze wyrzucone w błoto i nie uda się niczego znaleźć. Praca Pana Marcina przeszła jednak moje najśmielsze oczekiwania. Zaledwie po kilku tygodniach otrzymałem dokładną analizę geologiczną mojej rodziny aż do 1782 roku wraz z dokumentami i ciekawostkami! Pan Marcin zaoferował wręcz śmieszną, bardzo niską, cenę za swoje usługi na tak wysokim poziomie - kilka razy mniejsze niż konkurenci do których kierowałem swoje zapytanie.Z czystym sercem mogę polecić usługi Our Ancestors każdemu!

Maria determined exactly where my ancestors records were, traveled to search them personally, and found several generations of my Polish ancestors from the 1800s. I was very satisfied with her prompt service. I would definitely work with her again.
